Phuket, Thailand's largest island, is only about the size Singapore is in the green waters of the Andaman Sea about 850 km south of the capital, Bangkok. Phuket has two main stations, which are at the station rainy season from May to October and the summer season, from November to April. Rainfall during the rainy season lasts only two to three hours a day with a lot of days the sun still to assess.
The most popular beaches are located in Bang Tao, Kamala, Karon, Kata and Patong. Besides beaches and nightlife of the island, many others activities can be appreciated as water sports, visit temples, walk in the woods on foot or by bicycle. Phuket also houses one of the most famous International Football 7s tournament in Southeast Asia in November.
Bang Tao Beach is one of the longest beach in Phuket and a tourist-dominated House Laguna complex, a development massive luxury hotel with golf course. Swimming is very pleasant during the dry season, and tip of the bay is another small bay, which is virtually surrounded of beautiful corals.
Kamala Beach, which is essentially a fishing village, is less touristy, even during the hot season. A mile from Long Beach, peaceful, where fishermen can be seen laying their nets near their boats, is the only entertainment in the region and the buffalo herds coming down to cool off sometimes.
Patong Beach is the tourist area which leads to water sports activities like diving, parachute flight, windsurfing, water skiing and sailing. Patong nightlife is the most dynamic in all of Phuket. Bars, restaurants, go-go bars and clubs are scattered in front of 3,000 meters long beach. The greatest concentration of sites in the Soi Bangla night in bars with live music, bars with local artists and a wide variety of excellent restaurants can be found.
Karon Beach is much quieter than Patong beach in Phuket tourist second. A long wide white sand virgin beach can be appreciated there. A beautiful coral coral extends Kata and Bu island in the far south. Restaurants, bars and travel agencies, but also to non-hotel is located in the far north.
Phuket has its own international airport and can be contacted abroad or in Bangkok with a 70-minute flight.
