Daily budget for backpacking in Thailand?
I’m planning a backpacking trip to Thailand soon and would like to know how much I should budget for. I’ll be staying at cheap hostels and I don’t drink. Thanks.
Depending on what you’re doing, you can get by on as little as $20 a day on average or up to thousands. If you stay in one place longer you’ll keep your expenses way down as moving around a lot tends to cost more money – not only do you spend money on moving, but you also can’t negotiate deals with guest houses and you’ll spend more while adjusting to local prices.
All that being said, I think a budget of $20 a day is the least you can *really* expect to get by on and have fun. Just for example, here are some common prices for things:
